Cerebral Palsy is a condition which affects 17 million people worldwide and impacts 1 in 400 births in the UK. Cerebral Palsy is caused by problems in the parts of the brain which is responsible for controlling the muscles. The brain becomes damaged either before, during or just after birth. This Cerebral Palsy workshop will help you to understand the condition and support those who have Cerebral Palsy.

What does the cerebral palsy workshop cover?

This is a 2 hour workshop available to be delivered either in-person or an online session. The workshop will cover:

  • What Cerebral Palsy is and what causes the condition;
  • The symptoms of the condition;
  • Facts and misconceptions about Cerebral Palsy;
  • Reasonable adjustments to support someone with CP;
  • Tips for interacting with someone with Cerebral Palsy.

Who is the workshop for?

This session is for anyone who wants to learn more about Cerebral Palsy. It may be particularly helpful for those working with or supporting someone with CP.

Or you may just want to participate in Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and help raise awareness of the condition.

Who will deliver the session?

The session will be delivered by Aideen Blackborough – I’ve had Cerebral Palsy since birth so I’m happy to share my personal knowledge and experiences, as well as answering any questions that you may have.
