Hello! I’m Aideen Blackborough and I’ve had Cerebral Palsy since birth, giving me a wealth of knowledge and experience to share about disability. I’m passionate about creating a more inclusive world for disabled people and I offer a range of disability training sessions to help you do the same. All courses are available online or in-person and each session can be condensed into a half-day or full-day sessions are available.

  • Disability Awareness Sessions – Helps to develop an understanding of what disability is, the various models of disability, different types of disability and how you can support disabled people.

  • Equality Act 2010 Summary – Your responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010: understanding the legal definition of disability and what reasonable adjustments are and how to make them. Helping you to create an inclusive environment for everyone including staff and customers.

  • Cerebral Palsy Awareness – Helps you to develop your understanding of what Cerebral Palsy is. We’ll cover its symptoms and causes and how to support someone with Cerebral Palsy.

  • Disability Etiquette – This session aims to build confidence in interacting with disabled people. We’ll cover inclusive language, how to communicate confidently with disabled people and the do’s and
    don’ts for positive interactions.

  • Disability Awareness Assemblies for Schools – School Assemblies and/or Classroom visits to help children explore issues related to disability. Children are encouraged to ask the questions and talk about their own experiences of disability.

  • Customised Sessions – I can also customise sessions to fit your specific training goals and needs. Full and half day training sessions available – please contact me to discuss your requirements.
